The Zune Phone?

ZunephoneCould this be the answer to Microsoft’s problems? It really is no secret that most people in the world are happier using phones with a simple OS, compared to using the different variations of Windows Mobile.

Everyone can see the success of the iPhone from Apple, nowadays you can’t leave the house without seeing someone fiddling away with their iPhone! So Has Microsoft decided they want to assault this avenue of the phone market? A smart-phone based off of their own MP3 player… the Zune?

Being honest, I have never personally seen anyone who owns a Zune, so Microsoft could fall at the first hurdle, being that people won’t even know what a Zune is and therefore not trust the brand over, say, the iPhone.

In order for the Zune phone to compete with other devices on the market, it will need to be attractive and easy to use. One part of the iPhone’s success is how easy it is to use, so if the Zune phone is running the standard Windows Mobile (which is rumoured, all we can hope is that they give it a twist to make it easier to use.) it will not appeal to the wider market as the iPhone has. So hopefully Microsoft will take a page from Apple and design their own easy to use OS for the Zune phone.

Some other information I found out.

- Can connect to the Zune marketplace

- Will look like the Zune MP3 player (duh?)

- Can connect to the Xbox 360 and can stream video via the WiFi

- Rumoured to be around for Christmas this year.

There is plenty of information still to be released about the Zune phone and I will bring it to you as I stumble upon it.
